Around the world, Indigenous peoples have developed diverse and distinctive cultures, each with its own creation myths, in which a variety of spirits often appear. They have also practiced rituals shaped by their respective animistic beliefs. The sculptures, masks, textiles, and other objects associated with these traditions reflect forms and patterns distinctive to the cultures that created them.
This exhibition presents works that give form to prayer, ritual, and spiritual beliefs among peoples of Africa, Oceania, Indonesia, the Philippines, the Himalayas, and other parts of Asia.
- General admission Adult 800yen. Students 700yen. Children under 12 is free (accompanied by an adult).
- Open 9:30AM〜5PM (last entry is 4:30PM)
- Closed Tuesdays and Wednesdays (except on national holidays), and November 20, 21, and 22, 2026.
